Mighty meals for healthy living at SEASON

When Paul Treadwell, Food services director, joined the MacEwan Eats team in 2017, he wanted to provide students, staff and faculty with even more fresh and appealing food options. And so, Season—the only exclusively vegan and vegetarian concept on campus – was born. Since then, Season has been serving up hearty soups, sandwiches and salads in the City Centre Market.

This fall, Season has expanded its offerings to include mighty bowls, oat cups, smoothies and freshly squeezed juice (with no added sugar). The mastermind behind these new additions is Chef Navneet Kumar.

“Our new offerings help us serve everyone on campus,” says Kumar. “These days, people are looking for healthy options like brown rice, whether they’re vegans, vegetarians or following the Keto diet.”

Options like Season’s Grain Bowl place more emphasis on fibre and green vegetables, instead of just carbs.

The new menu items aren’t the the only things customers can look forward to trying. Season regularly rotates its selection of sandwiches, soups and salads, while still retaining favourites like the Caprese panini and beet salad.

“Season is the most open to changes or suggestions, so we try our best to accommodate student and staff requests for past menu items,” says Kumar. “Recently, by popular demand, we brought back our avocado and egg croissant.”
